About the Speaker

Dr. Francisco is professor of chemistry and professor of earth and atmospheric sciences at Purdue University. He received his B. S. degree in Chemistry from the University of Texas, Austin and his Ph. D. in Chemical Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In addition, he was a Research Fellow at Cambridge University, England, and a M. I. T. Provost Postdoctoral Fellow. Dr. Francisco's research interest focuses on understanding the atmospheric chemical consequences of chlorofluorocarbons (CFC's) and their replacement alternatives. He is a recipient of an Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship, a Camille and Henry Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award, and most recently the Percy L. Julian Award for Pure and Applied Research from the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers. He has authored more than 150 journal articles and currently serves on the Naval Research Advisory Committee for the Department of the Navy and is a Sigma Xi lecturer.

Directions

From I-71, exit 15, Pfeiffer Road then west on Pfeiffer road two blocks to Reed Hartman Highway. Right on Reed Hartman, left on Lake Forest Drive. Take I-275 to Reed Hartman Highway, south on Reed Hartman (about 2 miles) to Lake Forest Drive, right onto Lake Forest Drive.

The hotel is located at 11911 Sheraton Lane off of Route 4, just north of I-275 in Springdale.
